MARCH FOR LIFE

January 22, 2015 - Washington D.C.

Joan Crown, Respect Life Director, traveled to Washington D.C. for the pilgrimage to the 42nd Annual March For Life on January 22, 2015, with 120 archdiocesan high school students and their chaperones. The pilgrimage included visits to the Holocaust Museum and to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, a tour of the Monuments, prayer vigils at the Supreme Court and at the White House, a Day of Reflection on life issues and, of course, marching from the Lawn to the Supreme Court with hundreds of thousands of people from all over the country and the world!

Accompanying us as chaplain was Father Frank Permuy from Belen Jesuit High School, Respect Life Deacons Jim Duggard and John Clarke and Deacon Luis Cruz from Cardinal Gibbons High School. Father Frank gave a special blessing to the High School seniors preparing them for their new experience as college students next year.

.

From February 18 to March 29, our community will take part in 40 Days for Life … a groundbreaking, coordinated international mobilization. We pray that, with God’s help, this will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our city — and beyond.
